JOY/THANKS/PRAYER
"learning to need you" by justin mcroberts
I've forgotten
Just how sweet your
Mercies are Lord
I've forgotten, just how sweet your
Mercies are Lord
Could you remind me
You've been faithful in my weakness
Father your love
Overwhelms my soul
I'm learning to need you
I cry out your name
I am in need of your mercies, Jesus
Despite my pride and my shame
I'm learning to need you

that roach wouldnt be so stubborn. he refused kwans extra jacket from the car saying that he would be fine during the baseball game. me and kwan told him many times that its cold and that he would regret it. he got worried when his nipples got hard and when he saw a fan walking while wrapped up in a sleeping bag. i think he was freezing but he toughed it out like a man. its ok roach, im stubborn too, so u can pray for me bout that. dang, i should take the plank out of my own eye.

JOY
"if we have hurry sickness, we are haunted by the fear that there are just not enough hours in the day to do what needs to be done. we will read faster, talk faster, and when listening, nod faster to encourage the talker to accelerate. we will find ourselves chafing whenever we have to wait. at a stoplight, if there are two lanes and each contains one car, we will find ourselves guessing - based on the year, make and model of each car - which one will pull away the fastest.
at a grocery store, if we have a choice between two check-out lines, we find ourselves counting how many people are in each line, multiplying this number by the number of items per cart. if we have a really bad case of hurry sickness, then even after we get in line we keep track of the person who would have been me in the other line. if we get through and the person who would have been me is still waiting, we are elated. we've won. but if the alter-me is walking out of the store and we're still in line, we feel depressed. we have hurry sickness." john ortberg

JOY
"A little boy went to Sunday school, where he knew the sort of answers you're supposed to give to questions. The teacher asked, "What is brown, furry, has a long tail, and stores up nuts for winter?"
"Well," the boy muttered, "I guess the answer is Jesus, but it sure sounds like a squirrel to me."
"if I was serious about becoming a more loving person, I was going to have to get more sleep. I have discovered I have a very hard time thinking and feeling and acting like Jesus when I lack sleep...Sleep is a gift from God...Have you ever tried to pray when you are lacking sleep?...Sleep is a gift from God." Amen brotha. but kinda ridiculouses that im posting this at almost 5am.
PRAYER
"If someone asked me how my spiritual life was going, my first thought would be how I was doing at having a quiet time - praying and reading the Bible each day...if someone had asked the apostle Paul or the apostle John about his spiritual life, his first question would have been, "Am I growing in love for God and people?" The real issue is what kind of people we are becoming. Practices such as reading Scripture and praying are important - not because they prove how spiritual we are - but because God can use them to lead us into life."
"Our primary task is not to calculate how many verses of Scripture we read or how many minutes we spend in prayer. Our task is to use these activities to create opportunities for God to work. Then what happens is up to him. We just put up sails: "The wind blows where is chooses...." "
