JOY/PRAYER
funny but bad dennys session.
"were definitely not edifying them."
"dont play your deaf card again."
hopefully more was gained from it than just bad perceptions.

THANKS
vivian for dinner. and eileen/vicky for the other night. good food and company both times. i kinda wanted to add a food review to remember cuz ive been to a few new places this past week:

delfina: semi-italian joint in mission district. pretty busy place even on monday night but counter seating available for walk-in guests. decor is alright, long mirror was kinda cool. kinda loud so not exactly ideal for conversation. expected the appetizer of calimari to be fried but it wasnt, cooked in another way and served with some sort of beans, not bad but i think fried woulda been better. halibut was pretty good, not too fishy, portions not so big. tried the chicken too which was better than expected, juicy and flavorful, a lil sweet tasting. tuna was alright, nothing spectacular. didnt pay the bill but think it was moderately priced. overall rating = 8

citron: cute lil place on college right past rockridge bart. think you can usually find seating, sat lunch was not busy at all. college ave type scenery, sorta date place style. complimentary green cucumber fresca kinda refreshing but not great tasting. heard patte is usually whatever but it wasnt bad here. bro said mushroom soup was pretty good, chicken sandwich was alright. viv thought fish (forget exactly what kinda but similar to swordfish) sandwich was not that great even thought waiter said it was his favorite and recommended it. mom didnt like seafood dish, said rice was like jook. dad had skirt steak which was pretty good, probably best entree. i had gorgonzola in a red sauce which was alright, kind of heavy and cheesy, similar to soojehbee. best gorgonzola ive had is still gypsies, hands down. prices looked a lil cheaper than expected (but maybe cuz it was lunch). overall rating = 7

boulevard: reservations on friday night @ embarcadero. one of the most popular restaurants in all of sf so reservations is a must. decor wasnt anything crazy but had somewhat of a fancy, elegant look. kind of a weird smell near the bar but think it was some sort of cleaning stuff. cant remember appetizers right now. filet mignon was nice, not anything very special though, had its own flavor cuz of sauce/juice. banana creme pie was good cept for one oreo-ish part which was a lil strange, gave a different taste and texture. creme brulee was good, better than average creme brulee. pretty expensive place. wine doubled the cost. overall rating = 8.5

ochame: was able to make same day reservation when it opened around 5:30. nice, quiet 4th street area. dim lighting, not too loud, good date place. japanese type cuisine. started with green onion pancakes which were very similar to pah-jun cept a lil lighter tasting. skirt steak was excellent and mushrooms were great as well. dont remember cost but think it was very fair. overall rating = 9

mecca: very hip, modern place with contempo music on market near the restaurant home. think its somewhat of a gay scene at the bar. carrot soup was surprisingly splendid, not too much of a carrot taste and sweet but not too sweet. pork tenderloin had a unique taste cuz it was wood roasted, noticed rum in the sweet potatoes. interesting, good but not great. overall rating = 8

PRAYER
had my last day of awana. it made me sad to think that i wouldnt be around to see them anymore. i really wanna be a part of their lives and see them grow up. i hope that there will be teachers who stick around longer than usual, not just in awana but in the other ministries as well. theres such a great need for committed teachers for the youth at kcpc. may God fulfill this need.

THANKS
for all of the calls, messages, and cakes.
