john song visited the big apple this weekend, came w/ taryn and his buddy david. steve han also joined us for a couple days. here is a link to a pic of mr. john song:
http://www.berkeley.edu/news/media/releases/2005/04/22_pov.shtml
the following is an excerpt from an old post of richard huh's xanga. i think he sums it up well:
"Convincing (and succeeding) the Grace's that Burbank is better than Torrance in almost every way possible. The only thing they have good in Torrance is John Song.....Brian and I agreeing that the only reason Torrance is alright is strictly because of John Song."

other highlights from the weekend:
- david wanting serendipity so badly, getting worked up bout century 21's sales, and trying to pretend that he wasnt excited for h&m.
- sarah talking bout collecting homies, taryn pulling a homie out of her purse, john questioning "why are you bringing that out!?"
- david needling john every hour and me/steve dying of laughter
- taryn flipping out when the door buzzed right in front of her face
- john beaming for hours after checking out the nba store
- special guest appearance on aim: KuLDudE75 (1:22:23 AM): haha

PRAYER
Mighty to Save

Everyone needs compassion
Love that’s never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour
The hope of nations

Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever, Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave

So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender

Shine Your light and let the whole world see
We’re singing, For the glory of the risen King

lately ive been seeing cache creek commercials all the time. the first time i saw one i was really confused cuz its only in the bay area. but then i realized it was a local broadcast (sacramento kings or golden st warriors). made me feel like i was back in berkeley. sometimes it makes me want to go. dang advertisers....

i was watching the '92 nba all-star game this afternoon. what a game, thats what an all-star game should look like. it had tons of exciting plays from great players. if the all-star game was like that every year id watch it for sure. magic ended it on such a great note to win the mvp and paved the way for hiv/aids awareness worldwide. amazing cast of all-stars: jordan, pippen, barkely, ewing, robinson, olajuwon, malone, stockton, magic, drexler, mullin....pretty much it was the '92 dream team, pretty much all hall of famers and that doesnt includ isaiah, dumars, and rodman. laettner is one lucky foo to be part of that team.

some of my buddies and i used to try to think of ideas throughout college. we would think of get rich quick schemes or new inventions or just starting up a business that we think would do well. last night i discovered my first legit idea. during class i had an epiphany, the one idea that would make us all rich was born. this was one of those revolutionary ideas, one that could change the whole world. i thought it was possible that i would remember february 5th, 2007 as the day that changed my life. unfortunately it isnt.

so my idea is to create a cell phone service provider that provides either free or very cheap cell phone service. you would only need to buy the phone and the service is free/cheap. most ppl pay like $40/month for service if not more. so either free or like $5/month service would be an absolute steal. the only catch is that there would be advertising on the phone. now youre probably thinking what kind of advertising and how much but thats not the right question. the specifics of that advertising could be figured out later, especially since the u.s. is lagging in cell phone technology compared to other countries. a bigger question is how much does it cost to provide the cell phone service. i think its relatively cheap but i really have no idea. essentially i would be turning the cell phone into the television. buy the tv, free service paid for by advertising. thats the idea in a nutshell. so would ppl switch? if the answer is yes then there would be a cell phone revolution. there would be an advertising revolution. no one cares bout tv anymore esp w/ tivo/dvr, everyone just skips the commercials except on superbowl sunday. advertising on cell phones is an untapped market just waiting to explode. and I realized this. I had figured out the idea.

when i ran the idea by andy he broke the news to me that google had already beat me to the idea:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15700344/

thats when i felt like i was in the movie rounders and teddy kgb was rubbing it in, "it hurts doesnt it....you cant BELIEVE what happened. all your dreams, (bloop) hops down the ****ing drain. " anyway, i knew even if the idea was a good one it would require ridiculous amounts of startup capital which i dont have. so thanks google for making me not waste my time.

dang, why couldnt i think of this 2 years earlier. i wouldnt mind getting bought by google.

pretty much the only stuff i watch on tv is basketball, sportscenter, entourage, and high stakes poker. but i was over at chi's place the other night and he was watching some trashy show on mtv called "the hills." think its short for beverly hills. im glad that i caught half of that episode cuz
1. it reinforced my feelings that its a trashy show
2. brody is ridiculous and i wouldnt have understood the extent of his ridiculousness in bill simmons article:
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/070201
"...let's hand it over to the great Brody Jenner, who's making a noble attempt on "The Hills" right now to break the reality-TV record for "most cheesy compliments ever given to a girl while trying to get into her pants." Two things you need to know about Brody: (A) He's Bruce Jenner's son, and (B) he's already been on two reality shows. Now he's pursuing the star of "The Hills" -- America's sweetheart, LC -- who's far too stupid to realize that Brody called her only because he knew the cameras had just started rolling for Season 2. You would think she'd catch on because Jason (last season's nose-itching boyfriend) pulled the same move on her and she was too dumb to see that one, either. She's easy prey for a player like Brody, who's been laying lines on her like "you have the most beautiful eyes I have EVER seen."... in this week's episode, Brody finally lured LC back to his apartment and gave her his greatest line yet: "There's nowhere I'd rather be than right here with you." I don't feel that strongly about South Beach, but give me a few more days. We might get there."

makes me curious about south beach. thanks chi, im glad we watched that episode. i think i want bill simmons' job. all he does is watch sports and tv shows all day and writes funny articles once in a while, what a sweet job.
