first NFL game ever: jets vs browns.
highlight of the games: 3 slightly chubby female cleveland fans standing and cheering for their browns in the 1st quarter. guys from behind kept yelling at them. best line was "sit down, lose some weight!" they were so much quieter after that and left like a dozen times to go buy more beer.
very strange thing happened in 4th quarter. w/ 1:43 left the jets were down 17-12, 4th and 10 in the red zone, 3 timeouts left. i joke to my buddy, "field goal!" he laughs but his smile drops quickly as the field goal unit proceeds onto the unit. were both thinking "what the heck?" in mangini's bizarre, twisted logic he elects to go for the field goal in the opponents red zone w/ less than 2 min left. they had already gotten lucky w/ their last onside kick so i guess he thinks they can easily repeat that feat. idiotic logic i guess. nugent hits the field goal, browns recover onside kick, jamal lewis scores, 24-15, nugent gets another field goal w/ 37 seconds left but final score 24-18. shouldve added nugent to my fantasy squad, i wouldve been cheering like crazy. this game was the epitome of the emotions of a jets fan.
"lose some weight!" haha, its still making me laugh...
